Jeff Hynes – President/CEO
Mr. Hynes joined CHI in 1986. He started his career in engineering, and was VP of sales and marketing for 10 years. He assumed the position of president in the year 2000. Mr. Hynes applies his expertise in high-temperature composite materials, process engineering and Lean manufacturing to his role at CHI. Mr. Hynes has led the growth at CHI, including its entry into the Ceramics Matrix Composites business. Mr. Hynes has both participated in, and led four acquisitions of CHI. Mr. Hynes earned his Bachelors’ degrees in Chemistry and Business Economics from the University of California at Santa Barbara, and a Masters in Business Administration from Loyola Marymount University.
Renee Fahmy – Vice President of Finance
Ms. Fahmy joined Composites Horizons in 2008, and brings with her more than 20 years’ experience in aerospace and plastics manufacturing. Ms. Fahmy started her career in public accounting with Ernst & Young, and has held positions in accounting and finance with Carson Industries and Milhous Group before coming to CHI.
Mark Kelly – Vice President of Sales and Marketing
Mr. Kelly joined CHI in 2009. With more than 40 years’ experience in the aerospace gas turbine engine industry, Mr. Kelly has held management positions in sales and marketing and technical sales with Howmet, Timet, Dowty Aerospace, Senior Aerospace and Valley Metals. Additionally, he has worked with all of the major gas turbine engine manufacturers over his career and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Metallurgical Engineering from Lehigh University.
Dino Militello – Vice President of Operations
Mr. Militello joined CHI in 2013. He has over 30 years’ experience in the aerospace composites industry with development and production experience in PMC, CMC and Carbon/Carbon material systems. He began his career as a Manufacturing Engineer and held positions in Program Management, Supply Chain Management, Operations Manager and Vice President of Production with Boeing, Northrop, Messier-Bugatti and HITCO Carbon Composites, in addition to working with most major gas turbine and airframe manufacturers over his career. Mr. Militello holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Technology from the State University of New York at Buffalo (SUNY).
Phil Giffin – Vice President of Quality Assurance
Mr. Giffin joined CHI in 2009. He has over 35 years’ experience in the aerospace industry. He has held various Quality Assurance and Engineering management positions, primarily in the prepreg and adhesive manufacturing industry, as well as finished composite structures. Mr. Giffin holds a bachelors degree in Sociology from Lynchburg College, Virginia.
Bob Spring – V.P. Business Development/Program Management
Mr. Spring joined CHI in 2012. Originally hired as V.P. of Aerospace Operations, he was subsequently appointed to his current position in June, 2013. Mr. Spring has spent more than 40 years in the aviation industry, taking roles in manufacturing, materials, program management and business leadership. He has held leadership positions at CTL Aerospace, Pratt & Whitney, Cade, Rohr and General Electric and holds Bachelor’s of Science and Arts from John Carroll University and an MBA from Pepperdine University.
Kevin Snyder – V.P. Engineering
Mr. Snyder joined CHI in 2000 and brings over 30 years of aerospace composite fabrication experience. Prior to CHI, he worked in development of complex composite structures, nacelle structures, and composite acoustic structures for Rohr Industries (UTC). Mr. Snyder managed Rohr’s prototype development group where new program goals were evaluated and met through coordination of outsourcing and in-house. With his proven engineering skills in structures and thermo sciences, Mr. Snyder holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree from California State University Long Beach.
